By using the Manar app, you agree to these terms. Please read them carefully; if you do not agree, please do not use the app.

1. Acceptance of Terms

Downloading, accessing, or using Manar — on your phone, watch, car or home-screen widgets — constitutes a binding acceptance of these Terms and of our Privacy Policy.

2. License to Use

Manar is free, with no ads and no in-app purchases. We grant you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable license to use it for your personal, non-commercial purposes. You may not reverse-engineer, copy, or distribute the app, harvest its content or data automatically, or misuse its services.

3. Religious Content and Its Method

• All religious content in Manar — hadith, adhkar, duas, rulings, tafsir and creed — follows the way of Ahl as-Sunnah wal-Jama'ah as adopted by the Permanent Committee for Scholarly Research and Ifta and the senior scholars of Saudi Arabia.
• No hadith is given without a transmitted grading, and no saying without its speaker and source. We strive for accuracy in the Holy Quran and adhkar; nonetheless, please refer to trusted printed copies and sources when needed, and report any issue so we can correct it.
• The rulings and benefits in the app are for learning and reminder, not a fatwa on your own situation. The Fatwa section points you to the official fatwa bodies' sites, where you can ask.

4. Prayer Times, Adhan and Calendar

• Prayer times and qibla direction are calculated astronomically from your location and the calculation method you choose, and may differ slightly from your country's calendar. You are advised to verify them with locally recognized authorities. A compass qibla is affected by metal and magnets near the device.
• The Hijri date follows the month starts announced by the country you choose; it may update later than the announcement, or differ from another country.
• The adhan and reminders are scheduled on your device and the operating system may delay or silence them (battery saving, silent mode, Focus modes, iOS limits on notification sound length). Do not rely on them alone to pray on time.

5. Your Account

• Most of Manar can be used as a Guest without an account. Some sections need a Google or Apple sign-in, among them Glimpses, Manar Contests and Read to a Teacher.
• You are responsible for keeping access to your account confidential and for activity that occurs through it. You may not create more than one account to game the contests or boards, or to get around a ban.
• You can delete your account from inside the app at any time, and its data is deleted as described in the Privacy Policy.

6. What You Publish and Write in Manar

This covers the name you appear under on the tasbih and contest boards and on your profile, the cards you publish to the community gallery, your Glimpses clips and their descriptions, and your reports and appeals. By publishing any of these you:

• undertake that it contains nothing contrary to the Shariah or the law, nothing that abuses or accuses anyone, no obscene language or call to innovation or strife, no advertising or commercial links, no one else's personal data, and nothing whose rights belong to another party without their permission;
• remain its owner, and grant Manar a free, non-exclusive permission to show it inside the app while it is published; you can delete it at any time;
• accept that everything published carries a report button, that content reported often may be hidden automatically until it is reviewed, and that Manar may remove any content that breaks these terms and stop its author from publishing, without prior notice. You can block any user so their posts no longer appear to you.

7. Glimpses — the clips you publish

The Glimpses section lets you publish short clips that other Manar users watch. Watching and publishing need a Google or Apple account. By publishing a clip you agree, on top of the previous section, to the following:

• Zero tolerance for objectionable content: no nudity or immodest dress, no violence, blood or disturbing scenes, no symbols or emblems contrary to Islam, no musical instruments, and nothing that breaks the Shariah or the law, abuses anyone, infringes the rights of others including copyright and image rights, or shows another person without their consent.
• Limits: a clip may run up to 90 seconds and its description up to 150 characters, and each account may publish a limited number of clips a day. The current limits are shown on the publishing screen and may change.
• Checks and review: every clip is checked automatically before it is published, is first shown to a limited audience, and then spreads or is shown less depending on how they respond. It is reviewed if it is reported or widely disliked, and may be shown less or hidden until a decision is made.
• Reporting and blocking: every clip has a report option in its menu (⋯ or a long press); a report reaches Manar's administration with the reporter's account, and reports are reviewed within 24 hours. You can block any publisher so their clips no longer appear to you, and unblock them from your profile's menu.
• Removal and warnings: a clip that breaks these terms is removed and its publisher told why, and the removal may carry a warning. Three warnings, or one serious breach, stop the publisher from publishing; the ban applies to the account and the device together, and may not be evaded with another account or device.
• Appeals: you can appeal any decision from «My glimpses' status» on your profile, once per clip; the appeal is reviewed and the answer reaches you in the app.
• What others see: your name, handle and photo and the description you wrote appear with your clip, and your profile shows your bio, your published clips and its numbers. Names and bios are text only: one with a link or an unsuitable word is refused, and photos are checked as clips are. Clips are not shown outside the app — a shared link opens them in Manar or points to its store — and nothing is paid for publishing or watching them.

8. Read to a Teacher

• It connects a student with a teacher in an in-app voice call to recite the Quran or a text from memory, in separate sections for men and for women. The service is voluntary and free, and calls are not recorded.
• Manar requires official documents proving a teacher's qualification before approving them, may accept or refuse an application, and may withdraw approval after any misconduct. Even so, contact between student and teacher is at their own responsibility: keep it inside the app, do not share private details, and report any misconduct to us.
• Using the service for anything but teaching, abusing the other party, or asking for payment is prohibited, and whoever does so is barred from it.

9. Manar Contests

• Each contest opens weekly from Friday 12 am to Thursday 12 am Saudi time, with one attempt per participant per week. The rules for questions, points and ranking are shown on the contest page.
• At the close of each week three winners are drawn by lot among those who answered every question correctly, and the prize is whatever the app announces for that week.
• A winner is asked for a WhatsApp number to deliver the prize, used for that alone. A winner who has not sent it before the next week's results are announced forfeits the prize.
• The contest boards show the name you choose, and you may take part without one. Manar may disqualify any entry shown to involve cheating, multiple accounts or tampering with the app, and withhold its prize.

10. Donations

• Manar's donation card shows campaigns of licensed charities and takes you to the charity's own page to donate there. Manar does not receive, hold or process any money, and never sees your card details.
• The receiving charity alone is responsible for collecting donations and spending them as intended, and for receipts, refunds and any question about a donation; the payment is governed by its terms.
• The campaign progress bar is read from the charity's page and may lag behind it; the charity's own page is the reference.

11. Your Files and What You Enter

Manar lets you use your own files, such as adhan sounds you trim, fonts, and the photos and videos in Ayah Video; most of them stay on your device alone. You are responsible for having the right to use what you add, and for keeping a copy of what matters to you, since deleting the app may delete what was stored only on the device.

12. Third-Party Services and Content

Manar relies on third-party services, including sign-in by Google and Apple, weather data from Apple Weather, maps, live broadcasts, and some recitations hosted by others. It also links to external sites, such as the fatwa bodies' sites, Dorar search results and charities' pages. These services and sites are governed by their own terms, and Manar is not responsible for their content or availability.

13. Intellectual Property

All rights to Manar's design, name, logo, and software belong to the developer. The Quranic text remains in the public domain and is not subject to any exclusive rights; rights in the recitations, books and other quoted material belong to their owners, as attributed in the app.

14. Suspension

Manar may restrict or suspend any account's or device's access to the interactive sections if these terms are broken, or if the safety of users or the service is at risk. You may stop using the app and delete your account at any time.

15. Disclaimer

The app is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, express or implied. We do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, or that calculations will be accurate in every place and at every time. What users publish speaks for its authors, not for Manar.

16. Limitation of Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the developer shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, or consequential damages arising from your use of, or inability to use, the app, or from your dealings with another user or an outside party.

17. Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time and change the "Last updated" date above. Your continued use of the app after an update is posted constitutes acceptance of the revised Terms.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia.
